Patches and Downloads

The School Management Software is now on version 2.2

New features:

  • Automatic update
  • New forms
  • Better support for printers

This is a whole new version, with an updated operating system which has been tested on Microsoft Vista. This means that you will need to download a complete new installation. The good news is that version 2.2 has an automatic update feature in it which means that if you download this installer it will be the last time you will ever be concerned with current versions or "where's my data installed?" questions.

We no longer have links to the software on the site, but if you contact us and let us know your current version, the instructor that the software is licenced to (if it isn't you) we will send you a link to install the latest version.

We will no longer be supporting anyone who is on any version below version 2.2.

How to update to version 2.2 from previous versions

Important update notice
Do not install the new version into the same folder as your current software! Please allow the software to install into its default location.
If you have done this, and get an error whenever you try to print a form, simply open the software, go to "options" > "automatic update" and press the "check for updates" button to download the files again. If it says you are using the most up to date version, don't worry, you need to get the latest files.
1. Where is my software now?
This single biggest problem with installing patches is that your version is not always installed in the same place as everyone else, so when you install you can update a version that you are not using, which is why the update seems to work. You need to know where your software is being run from.

How do you start your software?
This will probably be by clicking on a shortcut on your desktop, or using your start menu. Right click on this icon or shortcut and a popup menu will appear like this image to the right:

Choose "Properties" to show this box:

Your software is currently installed where this box says "Target", wihch in my case is in c:\tkd. Write this down, as you will need it in a while ...

2. Download and install the latest version

Download the software using the link you will have been sent (contact us if you have not received it). You can choose to save the file and run it locally or you can run it from the site. It is about a 14mb download, so it may take a while.

Important for Vista Users: you must install the software into the default destination directory, or the new security settings in Vista will stop the software from working.

Don't worry, this should be the last time you have to do this. A new shortcut will appear on your desktop, or you can choose to launch the programme when it has finished installing:

When the programme starts it will ask you where your software was previously - choose the folder that you discovered earlier.

All of your previous files and reports will be transferred to the new location.
Your update is complete.

3. Troubleshooting

The main issues you will have are not being able to locate your current software and not finding your configuration file. These can be rectified if you contact us.
